Dense, dark, vacuum-sealed German rye in the classic square-slice format. Deep red and white label. Close, moist crumb with a fine even texture. Serving suggestion shows cottage cheese, smoked salmon, tomato and rocket.

Five ingredients — whole kernel rye, water, whole rye flour, salt, yeast — and nothing else. No preservatives in a bread with a long ambient shelf life; the vacuum pack does that work. Wheat free, and it is the only bread here milled from rye alone, so it is the one to point a wheat-avoiding customer toward. It is also the lowest-calorie and lowest-sugar loaf of the six: 120 calories a slice and zero sugars.
