From Famille Perronneau, a family apiary operating since 1890 in Dijon, France, this jar combines smooth acacia honey with a piece of real honeycomb. The honey is harvested naturally without chemical treatments from hives in preserved areas using bee-friendly methods. Acacia honey is prized for its delicate lightly sweet flavor and slow crystallization, while the honeycomb adds texture and a deeper waxier floral note. Spoon over yogurt, soft cheese, or a warm baguette for an elegant French breakfast.
Faceted hexagonal glass jar with a gold lid, 350 g. Pale gold acacia honey with a genuine piece of raw honeycomb suspended in it — clearly visible through the glass, and the whole point of the product. The label is illustrated with a traditional skep hive and bees, in a restrained cream and gold palette that reads artisan rather than industrial.
Honey with the comb still in it, from a French beekeeping family working since 1890. Two ingredients on the label, and one of them is honeycomb. Acacia honey is prized for being very pale, mild and slow to crystallise, so it stays liquid and clear around the comb — which is what makes this jar look the way it does. Comb honey is a specialty item and a natural gift purchase.
Acacia honey with honeycomb.
A piece of real honeycomb suspended in acacia honey. The comb is edible — cut a piece onto bread or a cheese board and eat wax and all, or let it drain and use the honey around it. Acacia is the mildest of the honeys and the slowest to crystallise, so the jar stays clear and pourable.
The beekeepers state three things on the label: the honey is harvested without chemical products, the hives are sited in protected areas, and the bees are kept by bee-friendly methods. Keep away from heat and moisture.
⚠️ Not suitable for infants under 12 months, as with all honey.
