Warm yellow pouch, Hüttenschmaus — "mountain hut feast." Egg spätzle with cheese powder and onions, cooked in one pan. The Alpine-hut framing is the pitch: hearty, simple, comforting.

It is the better of the two Käsespätzle kits we carry, on three counts:

A bigger pack — 166 g against Maggi's 119 g, both making two portions. So the Knorr portion is larger (282 g prepared vs 240 g).

Much less salt — 2.8 g salt per portion (~1120 mg sodium) against Maggi's 1800 mg. That is roughly 40% less sodium for a bigger serving.

It also offers a microwave method, which Maggi does not.

78% egg spätzle (65% durum wheat semolina, egg, salt), processed cheese powder (5.8% cheese, whey product), palm oil, maltodextrin, 2% onions, iodized salt, flavourings, sugar, yeast extract, glucose syrup, milk protein, sunflower oil, salt, garlic, starch, curcuma, colour: paprika extract.
